Course and current status

2005-2015 - Director of the Social and Human Science Research Unit (URSHS) of the Institut Gustave-Roussy (Cancer Campus, Grand Paris/Villejuif).

2001-2009 - Professor at the University of Paris 8 (Vincennes Saint-Denis) for 6 years (half-time), after being a lecturer (2001-2003).

2003-2007 - Director of DESS “Law of the Management of Health, Social and Medico-Social Institutions”, since its inception (2003) until its transformation into a Master (2005), then deputy director of the Master of Health Law at Paris 8, responsible for the professional specialty.

2006-2007 - Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Medical Law and Health of Paris 8 (EA 1581). - Board Member of the graduate school of social sciences and law (ED 401).

2000-2005: Head of Research in Public Health (within Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris and then in a private consulting firm).

Scientific summary

In cancer, my researches are on survivors : socio-economic status of adults having had a cancer in childhood ; return to work after cancer ; self-employed facing cancer. These studies are mixed method and cohort based, combining epidemiological and sociological approoaches.

In cancer and other fields, i investigate the history, sociology and regulation body of human experimentation.
