Scientific summary

Doctor Caroline Caradu obtained her M.D. with very honorable mention and congratulations from the jury in 2015 by defending a thesis on the comparison of F-EVAR and Ch-EVAR in complex aortic aneurysms. She then obtained her specialty degree in vascular surgery in 2018; then her Ph.D. at the doctoral school of the faculty of Bordeaux in 2020, in collaboration with the Inserm unit 1034 (« biology of vascular diseases ») and Doctor Marie-Ange Renault, by defending a thesis on the role of endothelial cell dysfunction in the pathophysiology of critical limb ischemia, and more particularly on the implication of Hedgehog signaling pathway in this pathology. She holds several university degrees in ultrasound techniques (vascular modules), wound healing and endovascular surgery. She was also received at the CFCVE exam (“French college of vascular and endovascular surgery”) in 2020. She completed the majority of her training at the Bordeaux University Hospital in the vascular surgery department of Prof. Eric Ducasse and currently, she is a Fellow at the London St Mary's Hospital in the vascular surgery department of Prof. Colin Bicknell. Her research interests include novel therapeutic approaches to critical limb ischemia, the role of Hedgehog signaling in endothelial dysfunction, as well as endovascular treatment of complex aortic aneurysms and the implication of artificial intelligence in the field of vascular pathology.
