Coordinator for Africa of an international trial ANRS 12 229 PAANTHER 01 « Improving diagnosis of Tuberculosis in HIV infected children in Africa and Asia ». Co-Chief  investigator on a research project " A cohort of Hepatitis B infected children in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso from September 2009 (ANRS 12191). Co-Chief  investigator on a research project " Antiretroviral therapy by DDI+3TC+EFV in single dose for HIV-1 infected children in Burkina Faso. A phase II Trial (ANRS 12103) "from March 2005 to December 2009. Chief  investigator on a research project " Impact of HAART in HIV-infected children in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire" September 2000 – September 2004. Co-coordinator of the evaluation of the UNAIDS Drug access initiative in Côte d’Ivoire for social, economical and behavioral aspects 1999-2000. Coordinator of the clinical trial ANRS049 in Abidjan (Projet DITRAME) on prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV-1 by a short zidovudine regimen in a breastfeeding population. 1994-2000.

Scientific summary

I am specialist in HIV-AIDS in mothers and children, especially in Africa, for more than 20 years. Nowadays, I am involved in trials and clinical studies on care of HIV infected children and also in co-infections (Tuberculosis and HIV, Hepatitis B and HIV). Another of my activities is analysis of PMTCT programmes, success and bottle neck, in developing countries. I am also involved in multidisciplinary research with anthropologists on studies on women with HIV/AIDS in developing countries.
