RESEARCH FIELDS & ACHIEVEMENTS

Malaria: Translational biomedical research on Malaria, Red Blood Cells and Splenic disorders. Clinical trials. Therapy of Severe Malaria. Parasite resistance to antimalarial drugs. Research on drugs blocking malaria transmission. Ex vivo and in vitro models of the human spleen. Innate processes controlling Plasmodium falciparum infection.

Leishmaniasis : Experimental chemotherapy, clinical and biomedical research Clinical trials  Pentamidine as an efficient therapy for New World Cutaneous leishmaniasis. Topical paromomycin as a new simple, affordable therapy for cutaneous leishmaniasis. Expert advice to physicians in collaboration with the French National Reference Center.
