Scientific summary

Since my recruitment at the CNRS in October 1993, I have been interested in medicinal chemistry, the total synthesis of biologically active natural products, and organometallic chemistry. We have performed structure-activity relationships in medicinal chemistry on acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (galanthamine series, tetracyclic triterpenes, and iminosugars), kinase, kinesins myosins inhibitors, and nicotinic receptor antagonists. In total synthesis, we have carried out those of several natural products: galanthamine, crinine, maritidine, codeine, analogues of Buchi's ketone. More recently I have been involved in the synthesis of (-)-gymnodimine A, 13-desmethyl spirolide C and sarniensine. I have worked with different metals, iron, palladium, copper, rhodium in organometallic chemistry and carried out methodology studies. Some of my results have led to several patents and licenses and the creation of a start-up (Biokinesis end of 2011). Since 2010, I have been in charge of the ICSN chemical library.
