Emmanuel Lagarde is an epidemiologist, Director of Research at INSERM (DR1), working in the Bordeaux Population Health Research Center in Bordeaux. He currently serves as President of the French National Experts Committee for road safety and chairs the Commission Scientifique Spécialisée "Public Health" (CSS6) of INSERM. He has also been vice-chair of the Doctoral School in Public Health, Political Sciences and Human Sciences of Bordeaux from 2017 to 2022 and the head of the INSERM research team IETO on injury epidemiology from 2005 to 2021.
Emmanuel Lagarde is been coordinating research projects related to the impact of health-related factor on road safety in France and in Africa, on care management at the emergency room, in particular after head injury, on IA processing of emergency department data for flux optimization and surveillance and on interventions at the emergency ward to reduce stress and trauma-induced disabilities and long-term symptoms.
