Jean-Pascal Fournier is an associate professor in family medicine in the Department of Family Medicine of University of Nantes (France), and a researcher at SPHERE (INSERM 1246). He graduated with a Ph.D. in pharmacology in 2013 (University of Toulouse) and has been a postdoctoral fellow in pharmaco-epidemiology at McGill University, Montreal, between 2013 and 2014. He received his Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches in 2021.
He specialized in enhancing quality of medication prescribing and safety of medication use in primary care using pharmacoepidemiology sudies. His current focus is on the implementation and evaluation of deprescribing processes and patients’ attitudes towards deprescribing.
