Scientific summary

In the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, the genetic material is organised with histone proteins into chromatin, whose integrity is key for preserving cell identity.

My research focuses on the mechanisms underlying chromatin dynamics in response to genotoxic stress using cultured mammalian cells as a model system. By combining molecular and cellular approaches with advanced microscopy techniques, my aim is to identify factors involved in regulating chromatin dynamics and their functional relevance for the maintenance of genome and epigenome integrity in response to DNA damage.
