Vincent Van Waes graduated with a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Lille, France. He obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience (European label) in 2008 from the same institution, in collaboration with Sapienza Università di Roma, Italy. After completing postdoctoral training in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at the Chicago Medical School (North Chicago, USA), he joined the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France, as a Research Assistant Professor in 2010 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2017. He served as Co-Director of the Integrative Research Laboratory in Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology (INSERM UMR 1322, LINC) from 2018 to 2025 and has been Director of the unit since 2025.
