Julien Courtin did his PhD at Neurocentre Magendie, Bordeaux, France and a post-doc at Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland. His main interest is understanding how the brain controls appetitive behavior, in physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Accordingly, over years he gained expertise in behavioral models of mental health diseases and methods that enable the dissection of neuronal circuits and the investigation of their operational principles in behaving rodents. He recently established his lab in Bordeaux, France focusing on similar topics.
