Scientific summary

My expertise ranges from ion channel biophysics to cardiac physiology and excitation-contraction coupling. I use animal models and patient cardiomyocytes derived from human pluripotent stem cells to model congenital cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies and devise pharmacological interventions.

Over the last 13 years, I have been instrumental in demonstrating the involvement of the ryanodine receptor / calcium release channel in the pathophysiological conditions of the heart, skeletal muscle and brain.
