Course and current status

Luc ZIMMER (PharmD, PhD, radiopharmacist) is professor of pharmacology at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Faculty of pharmacy), at the National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN, Saclay) and at the University Hospital of Lyon (Hospices Civils de Lyon).

He is director of the CERMEP Imaging Platform and is also head of the BIORAN laboratory (Biomarqueurs radiopharmaceutiques et neurochimiques) at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center.

He is Chief Editor of Contrast Media & Molecular Imaging (Wiley-Hindawi) and Associate Editor of Fundamental and Clinical Pharmacology (Wiley).

He is President of the Scientific Council of the French Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (SFPT).

Scientific summary

Luc ZIMMER is working in the area of brain molecular imaging, particularly in the field of physiological and pathological neurotransmission. His research interests include the developpement of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals for brain diagnostic imaging, CNS drug discovery and biomarkers in mood disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
