Scientific summary

Economic analysis and evaluation of health care services (Primary Care and Prevention Research Team, CESP, INSERM UMR 1018)

Our contribution as health economists to population health research focuses on Health Services Research, a multidisciplinary field of research focusing on the use, cost, quality, accessibility, supply, organization, financing and results of health care services. Following a micro-economic approach, the objective of my own research is to analyze users / patients’ health care behavior in primary care in order to characterize these behaviors, to study the factors that determine these behaviors, and to evaluate their consequences in terms of health care consumption. Using mainly medico-administrative databases, via the supervision of PhD students, I am currently working on infertility care pathways, the use of emergency services by the elderly, the consideration of polymorbidity in prospective payment models, and on treatment adherence in patients with chronic diseases. I also work on issues of patient / user preferences and shared decision making.
