MD in 1997. Board certified in Pneumology and Intensive Care Medicine. PhD in 2002. Authorized to conduct research (Habilitation à diriger des Recherches, France's highest university diploma) in 2005. Full professor in Intensive Care Medicine since 2006. 

Assistant Head of Medico-surgical university hospital ICU. Researcher in Institut National de la Santé et la Recherche Médicale IAME U1137. Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Paris Diderot University Medical School. Head of the Infection Control Committee of the group of hospitals Hôpitaux Universitaires Paris Nord Val de Seine.

Experimental work

After my PhD that looked at the pathophysiology of lung injury induced by mechanical ventilation, I orientated my research towards the pathophysiology of bacterial pneumonia, focusing on the epidemiology and determinants of virulence factors of pathogens such as E. coli with the ultimate goal of providing new prevention and therapeutic strategies to the community.  

Clinical research

My clinical work focuses on acute respiratory failure and the use of new devices such as high flow oxygen.
