Gastro-esophageal reflux disease and pathophysiology of gastro-esophageal junction especially the relationships between TLESRs and proximal gastric tone (barostat and pharmacological studies). My current research relates to the development of new tools for esophageal physiology assessment as well as clinical trials for new antireflux therapies. Most of these studies are performed within an French-Belgium collaborative group (CRITERE: Consortium de Recherche Indépendant sur le Traitement et l’Exploration du Reflux Gastro-œsophagien et de l’Endobrachyœsophage) initially founded by Pr JP Galmiche. I am a founding member and the current President of CRITERE.
Digestive diseases related to Helicobacters species : this research is performed in the laboratory of bacteriology of our University (Pr Francis Mégraud). We are currently performing several clinical and in vitro studies to elucidate the role of Enterohepatic Helicobacters in IBD and liver diseases.
