Fabrice Carrat has obtained a Medical Degree in Public Health in 1994, at University Paris Descartes Paris 5, and a Ph D in Biomathematics in 1995, at University Pierre et Marie Curie Paris 6. He is now a Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology at Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), Paris; Professor in Public Health, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris; and Public Health practitioner at Saint-Antoine Hospital, Paris. Fabrice Carrat is member of the french National Public Health Committee (Haut Conseil de la Santé Publique), the french National Clinical Research Committee (Comité national de la recherche clinique). He was also a member of the public health expert panel on influenza pandemic planning.
Fabrice Carrat is author of studies in epidemiology of infectious diseases since 1992. His research interests include influenza and viral hepatitis epidemiology and modelling, and methods in epidemiology. He has experience steering major clinical epidemiology projects (therapeutic or cohort studies) and he heads a clinical data and monitoring center in partnership with the french National Agency on AIDS and viral hepatitis (ANRS). Fabrice Carrat has authored 130 publications, mostly on influenza and viral hepatitis.
